Wordle

I think Wordle is a fun, simple tool that can be used in multiple ways to assist education. Basically it takes text and turns it into a word cloud. You can either copy and paste text from a document, or type in what you want.

 I like that it makes words that are used more frequently larger. This could be used in the classroom by finding the most used words of a story, speech, or poem. This would help show themes and main ideas.

An example I created is using Wordle to make a word cloud of the names of students in a class.

 

I think that this tool is creative and fun, while still educational. Those qualities make it a great resources for use in the classroom!
